Recommended value: 1000
(1000 seconds = 16.6 minutes)
This is the default expiration time in seconds, for all Video, Audio and PDF links created by S3MediaVault. But you can also override this setting when you create a new shortcode.
Any media that you protect using S3MediaVault will expire after however many seconds you specify here.
So if you entered 1000 here, that means any Video, Audio or PDF or other links generated by S3MediaVault will work for 1000 seconds - or 16.6 minutes. You can set it to be shorter or longer for specific videos, audio or PDF, by overriding this at the Shortcode level.
So if that member tries to pass around the link to their friends or other unauthorized users, then the link would've expired in 16.6 minutes, and by the time their friends or others get to it, the link will no longer work. When Does the Timer Start? (or)
What if my Video/Audio is longer than 16.6 minutes?
If set to 1000, then the visitor has basically 16.6 minutes to start watching the video, or start listening to the audio, or click and download the PDF link generated by S3MediaVault.
So after 16.6 minutes, any links to PDF or other files will no longer work.
The 16.6 minutes limit is onlly to start watching the video (or listening to the audio). But once they start watching/listening, then it doesn't matter how long the actual video or audio is.
So once they hit play, the video or audio can be 3 hours or 300 hours long. The 16.6 minutes of expiration doesn't affect watching or listening time, as long as they hit play any time before 16.6 minutes.
