Encryption of Streaming Videos (if you choose to use them) is turned ON by default, and we recommend that you leave it checked (ON).

To disable encryption (turn it OFF) - for eg., if you want your members to be able to watch your videos on a TV, using streaming devices like Apple TV, Google Chromecast or Roku - please upgrade to a S3MediaVault Elite license, which will allow you to disable video/audio encryption.

NOTE: Un-encrypted Streaming Videos are less secure than Encrypted Streaming Videos, because Un-encrypted Streaming Videos could be downloaded from your website using tools like Video Downloader, Video DownloadHelper or Internet Download Manager (IDM).

But Encrypted Videos cannot be cast to a regular TV through a wireless device.

So your choices are:

1) Encrypt Video & Audio (this setting turned ON)
* Cannot be Downloaded from your website
* Cannot be watched on a TV via Apple TV/Roku/Chromecast, only via web browser

* Can be Downloaded from your website
